Just a Link: Punjabi, Sikh AND Mexican American? Check out this religio-cultural mashup...

It's been a LOOOOONG moment since I've blogged here. Rather than make a host of empty promises about future posts I'm just going to post something cool and slink back off into ignominy.

I've made jokes about curry chicken enchiladas before...who knew they were real?

Apparently there has been a community of Punjabi Sikhs in Mexico, and subsequently within the Mexican-American community, since the early 1900's. They established themselves firmly by the 1950's, but due to lots more inter-racial, inter-religious marriage...they're dying out. Talk about your interculture vultures...

P.S. So this whole thing with Miley Cyrus does lend itself to talk of interculturalism and cultural appropriation, but I really can't be bothered to give a shit. What I do give a shit about is Syria. And Japan. And gee,  I don't know...EVERYTHING ELSE. Moving right along...
